Nvidia Shield console takes on Xbox One and PS4 with a Tegra X1
Nvidia has just announced the first device that will feature its awesome Tegra X1 processor. It’s a first-party device, and it could be headed to your living room this summer. This is the Shield console.
It’s set to go on sale in May for $199, and it’s not just another Android set top box. This is a bona fide console, capable of running AAA games and pushing 4K video to your big screen.
Inside the newest Shield you’ll find 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It’s got 2 x 2 802.11ac WiFi, but there’s also a gigabit Ethernet port for those who prefer not to rely on wireless networks for their gaming marathons. A microSD slot and a pair of USB 3.0 ports provide room for expansion. Bluetooth 4.1 comes standard, too, so you’ll be able to pair your phone and use input devices without tying up one of those USB ports
